Keith D. Forman

Keith D. Forman

Managing Partner

Keith is the managing partner at WVFK&N. Since becoming a lawyer, Keith has dedicated himself to obtaining justice for children injured by obstetrical or neonatal malpractice. Keith is licensed to practice in Maryland, Minnesota, Texas, and the District of Columbia and practices nationwide on a pro hac vice basis.

A leader in medical malpractice and birth injury litigation, Keith has repeatedly been recognized as one of the Top 500 Lawyers in America by Lawdragon. He has routinely been selected as one of The Best Lawyers in America. Keith also has an “AV Preeminent(R)” rating from the Martindale-Hubbell(R) Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America Trial Lawyer Honorary Society.

Since joining WVFK&N, Keith has been involved in over 60 cases, resulting in a settlement or verdict over $3,000,000.00, including numerous settlements and verdicts over $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. These cases span the country as Keith and WVFK&N are called upon to help families in need.

In 2019, Keith was part of the trial team that obtained what is believed to be the second-largest verdict in a medical malpractice case in the history of the United States of America – a $229 million verdict against Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for a child who was injured at birth and suffers cerebral palsy as a result.

Before that, Keith was instrumental in the firm obtaining three of the four largest verdicts in medical malpractice cases in Maryland history – a $55 million verdict against Johns Hopkins Hospital (June 2012), a $21 million verdict against Harbor Hospital (July 2012), and a $15.6 million verdict against a nurse midwife and a hospital in Prince George’s County, Maryland (May 2013).

Keith earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Rhode Island in 2002. In 2006, he earned his juris doctorate degree from the University of Baltimore. His first attorney position was with a national Plaintiffs firm where he was immersed in the practice of representing children who suffered catastrophic brain injuries due to medical error. In 2008, Keith joined a boutique civil defense firm as a litigation associate, where he represented doctors, nurses, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals in defending claims of medical negligence. While his time on the defense side proved educational, Keith quickly realized that his true passion was representing Plaintiffs. He joined WVFK&N in 2009, exclusively representing victims of medical malpractice and catastrophic injury.

Keith also serves on the board of two notable organizations – Repair the World and the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation. Repair the World works with service partners nationwide to help communities in need through acts of service.
